.When I was 18, I moved from my parents' home in small-town British Columbia to Lake Louise in Banff National Park. I instantly fell in love with my new home nestled in the Canadian Rockies. I had grown up exploring, hiking and fishing in remote areas in British Columbia and Alberta, so this was a perfect fit for me. And it was here that I first heard about Lake O'Hara, in neighboring Yoho National Park. Even then (in the 80's) it was difficult to get to... The Lake O'Hara area is a pristine alpine region of the Canadian Rockies and is fiercely protected. Parks Canada limits the number of visitors daily as well as for overnight stays. I still feel very fortunate to have been able to stay for 2 nights in the campground and explore the area for a full 3 days. Here's a peek at my time there...I truly hope it wasn't my last . Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed!
